What happened?
What a year! After mid-March, we virtually went virtual. In-person activities were replaced by doing lots and lots of sewing at home and sharing many, many photos on the website.

Alameda County Arts Commission Virtual Show
ACAC again extended an invitation to EBHQ to share our quilts in their public gallery, but this year the gallery had to be online. So, no quilts needed to be collected, just photos of them. See the ACAC Gallery Presentation

Round Robin Challenge
After receiving their center blocks in-person at the January Education Session, starting in March and beyond, the Round Robiners had to meet masked and socially distanced in a parking lot to exchange their work. The Round Robiners talk about their experience here: The Round Robin writeup
The Big Reveal of all the completed tops, usually done in person, took place on Zoom!
Check out photos and comments about the finished tops in the Round Robin Gallery

Lone Robin - a Progressive Quilt Challenge
Julia McLeod invented a new round robin format, dubbed the Lone Robin, where no exchange was needed after each round. Staying home, each Lone Robin added a new element to their own quilt based on a monthly surprise prompt. Here's the list of monthly elements and a slide show of the Lone Robins in progress
Yet another Big Reveal of completed quilt tops took place on Zoom! See the completed Lone Robins

Show & Tell Night
Our favorite end-of- the-year event went on as usual, because we all kept on quilting and wanted to share the fruits of our labor with our guild. Photos were uploaded and Jean Smith hosted the evening on Zoom. While we missed getting close up views, by wandering through the church pews, now everyone can closely examine the quilts anytime in the Virtual Show & Tell Gallery

Meetups
Beginning in April, Meetups were held on Zoom, generating a larger audience than usually gathered at the church. While we missed our communal potluck beforehand, Zoom had the advantage of allowing us to record some of the excellent presentations given by our talented EBHQ members. Check out the 2020 recordings here …

Voices in Cloth 2020
Will we ever forget that our famous, well-attended, quilt extravaganza Voices In Cloth show was first optimistically postponed from March to August, then sadly cancelled for 2020 altogether? Luckily, we had plenty of photos we could collect to create an online gallery. View many fabulous quilts, and more, in Virtual VIC 2020 here....
