When you take a photo, you automatically own the copyright to that photo.  Also, when you upload your photo onto the EBHQ website, to a Member Gallery or your personal Profile Gallery, you still maintain your copyright to that photo. The member galleries are not viewable to the public.  

By way of this release form, you give permission to EBHQ to publicly use all photo(s) or material(s) that you email or mail directly to EBHQ or to our social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram).  EBHQ could use this item on webpages, brochures, or other promotional materials without asking for permission again.  Where, how and the duration of use are outlined in this release form.  

Completing this release form will help EBHQ avoid possible copyright infringement troubles later on.

Questions....

So does this mean EBHQ can use photos  uploaded into Member Galleries? No, EBHQ will never take a photo from a member gallery for public display.

If I send a picture to Meetup do I need to complete this form? No, because this item can only be used for the Meetup session for which it was submitted. By emailing your item you are giving permission for a one time use of that item.   It cannot be used by EBHQ for any other purposes. 

So why is EBHQ requesting this release?  In the United States, it’s illegal for EBHQ to use images from a photographer (you) without a release form.

Why now?  EBHQ has not been consistent with requiring releases for photo usage on public pages on the website, social media, events and activities.

What do you mean by materials and/ or media?  For example, this could mean photos, patterns, printed items, and digital images or other types of communications.

Why a minor child? We have members and non-members who are minors who would need their parents permission.
