Mixed Media Fiber Art - Fabric Collage, Gelli Plate Printing and Embroidery
Presenter: Lynne Born
Mixed media fiber artist Lynne Born will share her innovative technique combining fabric, gelli plate printing, collage, paper, hand and machine embroidery and watercolor to create textile art. Her work is often woman-centric in the imagery of the pieces and to honor the centuries-long art and legacy of woman’s embroidery. To honor the tradition of women’s art and embroidery, every one of Lynne’s pieces includes a single stitch of her mothers’ thread. Lynne blends multiple layers of monoprints, antique and contemporary fiber, acrylic, dye and watercolor, hand and machine stitching, working with themes of abstracted nature, spiritual transformation, and the five elements.
