Seems like yesterday, but it was long ago! Yes, 45 years ago to be exact, when on June 4, 1978, 150 quilters gathered together to become charter members of a fabulous new quilting guild called East Bay Heritage Quilters. And look at us now! over 450 members strong and still growing, embracing quilters virtually from across the country.

Let's celebrate together--in June, in-person at last!

All members, old-timers and newbies alike, are invited to an outdoor afternoon tea party at the Laurel Picnic Area in Tilden Park, Orinda. EBHQ will provide tables bedecked with savory pastries and sandwiches, cupcakes, punch, and hot tea. We'll relax on sturdy chairs, under sun-blocking canopies while we share thought-provoking, hair-raising quilting stories and lots of laughter, perhaps a few happy tears.

Please join your fellow members at this light-hearted, high-spirited afternoon tea. Wear your favorite name tag, comfortable shoes, sunglasses and sunscreen. Bring your camera!

A few caveats:

Use of Laurel Picnic Area is limited to 75 people (a new venture (or venue?) for us). So sign up right away! Please be aware this picnic spot does not have easy disability access. Access requires a 500-feet walk from the parking lot. The good news: there is a bathroom close by.

Map and directions to the picnic area from the Albany Church.  When you get to the map you can change the start point to your own address.

Picnic committee:   Carolyn Weil, Pam Jensen, Michelle Bellows, Nicola Hanchock, Ewa Balewski
