January’s Presentation: Silk Secrets
Silk Secrets
Julia McLeod will share her favorite ways to manage silk's trickier qualities such as stretching, slipping and fraying and provide good sources for silk fabrics.
Julia McLeod is an EBHQ member who uses reclaimed textiles, particularly silk, in her quilt-making.
In the past four years, Julia has built a new career as a quilting teacher and lecturer. In August of this year she appeared on The Quilt Show with Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims. Next February Julia will be part of Quilt Fest's teaching faculty at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Show in Virginia.
Bullseye Block
Following Julia’s presentation, Valerie Sopher will show us how to make this fun and fast raw-edge appliqué block and variations.
Virtual Open Studio
Curious how other quilters use their creative space? Want to discover organizational ideas and tips? Please show us your studio at an upcoming Meetup. Participating is a great motivation to organize and clean your space!
The postcard exchange is continuing. To take part, register by January 13th and mark "Yes" to the exchange question when you register.
