Are you looking for a local opportunity to show your quilts?  Now’s your chance for the public to see your amazing work! Once again EBHQ has been invited by the Alameda County Arts Commission to exhibit about 30 member quilts in a very popular show at the Alameda County Administration Building in Oakland.  The exhibition will be in the 1st  floor Tax Office and the Board of Supervisor’s Lobby gallery on the 5th floor.

Exhibition: August 3rd, 2026 – January 28th, 2027 (six months)

Entry deadline:  Monday, June 22, 2026

Quilt delivery deadline:  Friday, July 10, 2026

Quilt return/pickup: after January 28, 2027

Quilt submission guidelines

·        Quilts can have been made at any time but must have been made by a current EBHQ member.

·        Quilts must not have been displayed at a previous EBHQ Alameda County Arts Commission exhibition.

·        Members may enter more than one quilt, but note that not all quilts entered for consideration will be displayed in the exhibition.

·        Displayed quilts must be no more the 60" in height but may be any width.

·        We need some quilts that are no more than 30” in height.

·        Each quilt must be labelled with your name and have a 4” sleeve for hanging attached securely.

·        All quilts must be available for the entire 6-month exhibition period.

Also keep in mind this information from the Arts Commission:

The goal of the exhibition is to enliven the County spaces with artwork that supports a positive atmosphere for visitors and County employees. For this reason, all exhibition artwork should be appropriate for this public service context and for an all-ages audience. Bright, colorful artwork with details interesting to a broad audience is encouraged. Examples of non-appropriate artwork include imagery with nudity, religious content, or depictions or references to violence, drugs, gangs, illegal or controversial activities.

Quilt selection and delivery

EBHQ's ACAC Show committee will review submissions and select a number of quilts for possible use in the show based on size and according to the ACAC guidelines.  After the entry deadline, we will notify members whether or not their quilts have been accepted. Selected quilts(s) must be delivered to Kirsten Hosemann by Friday, July 10th.  Make arrangements with Kirsten (Exhibits@ebhq.org) to deliver your quilts(s) to her or have someone else drop it off for you.

Application Process

  1. Make sure your quilt(s) comply with the submission guidelines above
  2. Complete the online entry form below
  3. Post a photo(s) of your entry here.
  4. Download a waiver to be submitted with your quilt.

We look forward to seeing your quilts!
