This ‘Smithereens’ quilt block comes together quickly and easily and has a dynamic and improvisational appearance. It’s an ideal vehicle for upcycling a selection of neckties and shirts, or can be made using your selection of quilters cottons. The 12-block class sample uses 8 neckties and one large, long sleeve shirt. With more blocks or with the addition of a border, you can make a bigger quilt.
