Virtual Workshop - Story Quilts

This is a two-day workshop Saturday, 9/24 and Monday 9/26.

Join Heidi Parkes for a uniquely thematic workshop in which students will explore storytelling! Learn about several of Heidi's diaristic quilts that tell her stories of travel, time in quarantine, and love for winter.

This workshop features instruction on visible hand piecing, hand applique, hand embroidery, and hand quilting. Students will learn to sew with a thick, visible pearl cotton thread for their handwork to be easily seen in the quilt and have a few optional opportunities to use their sewing machines.

Care will be taken for students to rest their eyes and practice hand yoga. Heidi will provide instruction with powerpoints, hands-on demos, and printable instruction booklets.
