Join Your Fellow EBHQ members for our In-person Open House !

Members: Be sure to register for this event so that we can have enough food for all. And, you can bring a non-member friend or two. When you register you will see options to add the number of guests you will be bringing.

Our Guest Speaker will be EBHQ Member Alice Hines.

Alice, a retired sociology professor at San Jose State University, has studied quilt communities. She will talk about Lucy Hilty, an early quilt teacher and prominent founding member of EBHQ. Read more about Alice here. Read more about Lucy here.

EBHQ has an active, creative membership. Make this early evening, IN PERSON event a moment to share what each of us is doing and explore what’s next for you in EBHQ.

Bring a small work you’ve created. Especially apropos is an item that has a connection to an EBHQ workshop or activity. Wear your own name tag. Make a fashion statement with your exquisite wearables and bags. (PS: Save your big quilts for the Show & Tell in September.)

EBHQ committees will be tabling so members and friends can learn about our programs, events, and volunteering and get feedback from you.

Embrace the time to socialize, share, meet new-to-you members, win a door prize, and enjoy light refreshments.

Note: Parking: Share the ride. You can park along the streets surrounding the church. The church parking lot has 35 spaces for those of us who have mobility issues. Enter the lot from Solano Ave just before Contra Costa Ave (and well before the Tunnel).

Sisters- - - Five Decades of Quilting in America

Loving fabric and wanting to sew as a little girl, she would never have thought that she would open one of the first quilt shops in America and hang ten quilts outside on a summer day and that would launch the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show.

This presentation will celebrate the memories of the 50^th anniversary of Sisters as well as Jean’s journey as an artist.

EPP vs. FPP: The Showdown!

This lecture will be recorded

English Paper Piecing or Foundation Paper Piecing? What's the difference? What are the pros and cons of each technique? Which technique is your favorite?

We will try to answer these questions as Tina shares dozens of quilts and many tips and tricks. Quilts from each technique will be pitted against each other and you will vote for your favorites.

At the end, we will tally up the votes and declare a winner!
