Doll Making -- Angel OR Witch or Wizard or Santa

Essentials:

A sewing machine in good working order that you will complete the doll on
basic machine and hand sewing supplies

1/4 yard desired skin colored fabric, preferably a tight cotton weave

1 John James long darner needle, # 7

Gutterman polyester thread to match skin color

1 yard or 2 coordinating half yards, fabric for costuming, ie. 1/2 is
needed for body, 1/2 yard for Santa/Wizard cloak or Witch skirt (* over
achievers will want another half yard for super fancy witch or angel skirt,
ie mine has tulle under velevt) ** Costume fabric Can be any kind of fabric,
not just cotton

20 oz. bag or more of polyester stuffing

bring the smallest pointiest pair of scissors you own (do not buy anything
special for class)

Buttons: 2, 1" diam. for Wiz/Sant, or 2, 1/2" diam for witch/ang

6" scrap of leather or similar for Wiz/Santa shoes

hair (8oz or more of desired hair) can really be anything

rotary cutting set up helpful

wings for Angel (I make mine quilted and will have on hand to show)

Trims, props and flotsam to match theme of your doll
NOTE
Instructor will have all doll making specific tools available for use
during class and she will have finger turning tool available for sale. If
this is the only doll you are ever going to make, DO NOT go out and supply
yourself with the doll making kit below, instructor will have everything you
need during class.

John james darner #7 for needle sculpting

polyester thread for needle sculpting (matches skin tone fabric)

Chenille stems (fat pipe cleaners) available at craft stores

stuffing tool, (Most often a hemestat or Kelly clamp)

acrylic pain: white, red, pink, black, blue, green, brown

Prisma color pencils: terra cotta, burnt ochre, pink, peach, rose
